We came to Krakow April 14th until 17th April as a family of 4 Adults.
Before coming to Krakow, we had great communication with Zuzanna, advising different trips we might like to visit, tailored to our requirements- nothing was too much trouble for her and she doesnt have a set route on which you have to do- she will take you anywhere you chose to visit. She also recommended places to eat, so we were able to pre-book these amazing restaurants the week before we came out.
Zuzanna met us at the airport and was instantly friendly and welcoming. She made sure we were all settled and supplied us with water (throughout our trip-which we appreciated due to the weather being 28c)
She took us from the airport on a tour around Krakow (both jewish quarter and old town) to introduce us to the city, giving interesting facts as we explored and advising us on places to visit for food and drink. Zuzanna even drove our suitcases to our apartment while we walked on foot to our accommodation to save us having to walk all the way back to the carpark with her.
The next day she took us to Auswitch and Birkeneau camps, where we were fast tracked in as she’d already pre-booked- we were so grateful for this as due to it being easter week the queues were at least 3/4 hours long to buy a ticket. Here she passed us over to our own personal guide for just the four of us.
After these tours Zuzanna took us to the local town where we ate and visited the area, learning the history.
The next day we visited Schindlers factory. Zuzanna sent a taxi to us, to save us having to get up really early and having to stand in a very long queue- instead Zuzanna did this and stood in the queue early to secure us tickets into schlinders factory (apparently if you don’t get there early you will be waiting for over an hour or more and they will then just turn you away saying they have all sold out- so this was really appreciated). I really enjoyed this tour as Zuzanna took us around and her knowledge is amazing- this museum is not just about schindler himself its a tour through the jewish history from the very beginning of the second world war. It was brilliant and Zuzanna put up with all my questions (and i had a lot) able to answer.
After this we went on to the salt mines, again Zuzanna queued for us with our tickets whilst we were allowed to go and get refreshments/ice cream and a toilet break- again that was appreciated. Again Zuzanna is not allowed to take us around here, so we had to go with a large group of 30 people with the mines own tour guide.
Zuzanna met us outside and took us back to wherever we wanted to be dropped off.
She arranged a collection for us the next day too to be driven to the airport (Zuzanna had another tour the next day, so unable to take us back).
We highly recommend Zuzanna, she is such a lovely person, we not only spoke about history of past events but about topics of events today and how our two life’s are, in comparison to each others- from listening to her, Poland sounds like a much nicer, safer place to live than England at this present time. She was interested in hearing about all of us, and our life’s, the jobs we all done and how the UK is as a place to live.
She remembered our names and used them, which is nice, makes it far more personal. We all spoke about our personal life’s, so it was nice to hear what life for her as a family living in Poland was like.
If your wondering what to do about booking a guide or doing it yourself then i would say book Zuzanna- she was worth every penny.
Thank you Zuzanna, you’ve made our trip to Poland very special 🥰
