We begin with a 1.5-hour drive from your hotel to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum. There, you’ll spend 3.5 hours visiting both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau, guided by a local expert. Can I visit with children?
The Auschwitz Museum officially recommends the visit for individuals older than 14 years old, considering the sensitive and graphic nature of the site. However, they leave the final decision to the parents, and people of all ages are permitted on the grounds. Opting for a private tour with me allows for the flexibility to adjust the tour’s content and pace for younger visitors, ensuring it’s appropriate and respectful to their understanding. What is the cancellation policy?
When you book your tour, a downpayment is required to secure the Auschwitz admission. This downpayment is refundable only up to 14 days prior to the booking date, in line with the cancellation policy at Auschwitz. The remaining balance of the tour price is 100% refundable if you need to cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time. I understand that plans can change, and I aim to be as accommodating as possible.
What to bring for this tour?
Every visitor needs to carry an ID, and it’s checked upon entry to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. For security, I recommend having a picture of your passport or driver’s license on your phone. It’s also crucial to prepare for spending significant time outdoors. In the summer, bring sun protection like hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Unbelievably knowledgeable, professional, and engaging. She asked me questions to find out about me, and used this information to help personalize the tour. She showed me typical touristy things, but we ducked into some lesser-known places to learn more about "the real Kraków". Today Zuzanna picked me and my partner up from our Hotel, we had a great drive to Auschwitz learning many things along the way. Zuzanna was so easy to talk to and showed great interest in everything we spoke about. We arrived and was greeting By our amazing guide that Zuzanna had arranged for us, we visited both sites and there was so much time to stop ask questions and take pictures (respectfully) when we could. On our way back to the hotel Zuzanna stopped by an amazing little Cafe and told us great stories about how this Cafe came to be, along with showing us around a little museum. Huge thanks to Zuzanna P who was our tour guide on Thursday 28th November 2019 during our stay in Krakow.. Zuzanna arrived promptly to collect us from our apartment in a clean and roomy vehicle. She has an extensive knowledge of the area and was able to give us information and the history of places, building and bridges as we travelled to the camps. Zuzanna was spectacular. I hired her to drive me to a city 3 hours away so I could do family research at the state archives. She immersed herself in my experience like they were her issues. She wasn't just a guide; she helped problem solve. She even made inquiries to the archives in advance so they were ready for us. A wonderful experience. From the beginning, Zuzanna was very responsive in communicating and making arrangements. On the day of our tour, she picked us up from our hotel right on time. On the drive to Auschwitz, we had an interesting conversation with Zuzanna that added to our overall experience of the day. In addition to pointing out places to us, she also shared some of her grandparents' experiences during and post WWII. Zuzanna is tremendously knowledgeable about the Jewish history and the history surround Krakow, and Poland in general. She is very pleasant, prompt, and easy to work with. We did two tours with her and I can't recommend her strongly enough. Zuzanna took us on two tours - one walking tour and one driving tour - and was excellent! Guides in Krakow don't have to be qualified, but Suzanna is and it shows! We took the Zalipie: Polish Wine-Tasting & Homestyle Lunch Private Tour with Zuzanna. This was truly one of the best days of our trip! We loved seeing the painted houses, visiting with and having lunch with one of the village women, and visiting the winery to taste delicious wines and have a lovely cheese assortment! Zuzanna is professional, speaks excellent English, is knowledgeable and a really enjoyable person to spend a day with. We enjoy getting outside of cities whenever we can to see some of the country. Our day with Zuzanna in the Tatra Mountains was fabulous, she provided the unique tour we requested. We wanted to enjoy the natural and local beauty of the region without the commercial aspects. After a ride to the top of Kasprowy Wierch, we spent some time walking the ridge line and taking in the scenery and surrounding mountains. Lunch was at a local Hansel and Gretel type cottage restaurant. Zuzanna took us along the back roads to visit and share characteristic aspects of the region. Perfect day!

Zuzanna gave the best tour I possibly could have hoped for. I requested a customized tour as I wanted to travel from Krakow to Nowy Sacz- a couple of hours away- to see where my grandfather lived. She took such an interest in helping me locate the plots of land where he would have lived in the early 1900's, when maps there had only numbers; no street names. We even visited three town offices for info. And then at my request, we took a last minute trip to Slovakia! Somehow, she made it all work. 5 stars!!

Best way to get to the camps, see some countryside and begin to be more informed about the how why and where of how these places came to be. I found Zuzanna from a YouTube video I watched on the Oscar Schindler Factory. She was explaining why you should have a guide when visiting. I decided to contact her.
